Seasonal influenza vaccination has been shown to reduce influenza and severe complications among children aged 6 months and older. Investigators conducted a case-cohort analysis to estimate vaccine effectiveness against influenza-associated death among US children. Correctly interpreting the resulting estimate is important for translating the findings into clinical discussions about vaccination.
