Diagnosing Hemophilia B in Primary Care
Hemophilia B may be suspected based on a history of prolonged bleeding, hemarthrosis, deep-muscle bleeding, or excessive bleeding after surgery, dental work, childbirth, or trauma. Although routine coagulation studies can support the evaluation, they may not reliably exclude mild disease. Primary care physicians should understand which test is required to confirm a hemophilia B diagnosis.
