Clinical Considerations for Glucocorticoid Use in IgG4-Related Disease

Immunoglobulin G4–related disease (IgG4-related disease) is a chronic, immune-mediated fibroinflammatory disorder that can involve nearly any organ system and often requires therapy to control disease activity while limiting treatment burden. In the phase 3 INDIGO trial published in The New England Journal of Medicine, investigators evaluated weekly subcutaneous obexelimab in adults with active IgG4-related disease after standardized glucocorticoid induction and tapering, underscoring the importance of understanding how glucocorticoids fit into current treatment strategies.
