New Guidelines for Hyperglycemic Emergencies
Hyperglycemic emergencies are frequently encountered in the emergency department, and guidance for diagnosis and management has historically been based on outdated recommendations. A recently published set of updated, evidence-based guidelines aims to improve care for these critically ill patients.
At the AAEM 32nd Annual Scientific Assembly (AAEM26) in Seattle, WA, George Willis, MD, Vice Chair of Faculty Affairs at UT Health Sciences Center in San Antonio, TX, presented his session, “Updates in Endocrinology: Hyperglycemic Emergencies.” Dr Willis is He reported no financial relationships to disclose.
